EXPERIENCES OF SOCIAL EXCLUSION DUE TO RESIDENCY IN STIGMATIZED SECTORS

Abstract

Social exclusion limits access to the benefits of a country's economic growth, thus conditioning social and individual well-being and impacting people's life. This study explores and describes the areas of life in which the experience of social exclusion impacts, related to the place of residence of the inhabitants of three neighbourhood sectors, of the San Pedro de la Paz district of the Biobío Region, Chile. Qualitative methodology and the biographical method were used. Among the main results, it was observed that the areas where feelings of social exclusion are most evident are access to education and in work.
