Cultural ethos, family and work immigrants in the chilean neoliberal society

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to analyze certain ways of economic and social integration for immigrants, most of them Peruvian, who have small ethnics products businesses. We demostrate the complexity of economic strategies based in family bonds, cultural patterns, and biographical backgrounds. From an empirical approach, based in grounded theory methodology, the research was placed at Yungay neighborhood in Santiago from Chile between 2011 and 2014. The results expanded the sociological theory about the ethnic economy and linked It into the Andean production way and kinship relations.
