Juvenile justice in Chile: a crticial review from the discourse of profesionals in its execution

Abstract

The present systematization proposal has as antecedent and object of analysis to seek to reveal, understand and critically theorize the social intervention that is carried out with young people between 14 and 18 years old who have committed crimes in Chile, specifically of the Special Assisted Freedom Program, from the province of Chacabuco, through a critical reflection of the discourse of professionals in the psychosocial area who execute it. A qualitative methodology was used, specifically from the application of the semi-structured interview information collection instrument.
In accordance with the foregoing, it is sought through exploration in the professional dialogue to install the possibility of developing competencies in the breadth of the concept, that is, to grant capacities based on the present skills, for a better development in their daily life in matters of criminal responsibility adolescent in Chile, and with it, propose or vitalize a critical conscience, a reflection, without prejudice to the necessary and permanent behavioral control that a sanction must exercise, on the horizon of offering new proposals and guidelines from said untreated scenario.
Finally, it is possible to state that, in this framework, it is possible to promote public and academic analysis in this area, and also contribute to the development of research and studies with empirical evidence, specifically regarding the management and action of the proposals in Justice Youth in Chile, having these antecedents as an opening and starting point for that.
