Abstract

The present study seeks to describe the changes in the everyday life of industrial families due to the consequences that brought the deindustrialization process. This study was carried out from a case study perspective digging into the sociohistorical construction that industrial development has had at its peak and fall, and the way this has led to a rear- rangement among the territory, having direct impact on the relationships among families living in Barrio Textil Bellavista-Tomé. In terms of methodology, the field research method was used to gather the data required through in-depth interviews. Results are presented as a holistic process, which involved gathering life stories from 4 families, including a total of 12 interviews. The results showed changes in families’ everyday life from their concrete practices and the preservation of the territorial past, which demonstrated dormant and overt experiences that are related to the generational differentiation within a family.
