Abstract

purpose of this article is to present the preliminary results of the comparative exploratory research between Colombia and Chile, carried out during the year 2020 called "Learning for the intervention of social work, based on the practices and knowledge of social movements and organisations in the framework of environmental justice", which was sponsored by the Universidad Católica Luis Amigo in Colombia and the Universidad Católica del Maule in Chile. This is approached from the qualitative paradigm, as it considers the ideas and opinions of leaders of four organisations in Colombia and four in Chile, who were interviewed virtually. The results allow us to identify the advances and achievements they have made, as well as the actors that constitute them. Some of the conclusions indicate that the socio-environmental organisations or movements manage to promote a greater collective and territorial awareness of the process of degradation of nature, a product of human action. They maintain a very direct connection with their communities, and they raise socio-educational proposals for collective environmental rights.
