Abstract
Abstract: The social worker within this context maintains an ongoing relationship with reality. Their efforts are largely concentrated within both public and private institutions, with the primary employer being the state, which, as it transforms, introduces new functions into various workspaces. This study delves into the occupational environment in which these professionals operate, particularly in relation to competencies. Competencies, in this sense, refer to the practical capacity to effectively carry out work activities because of a formative process, enabling them to perform satisfactorily across diverse contexts. The occupational environment, both in terms of its human and physical aspects, in which the social worker operates, does not always meet the desired conditions, thus impacting productivity. This also affects interactions with professionals from the Social Sciences.
