Abstract

La presente investigación entrega información de los recursos psicosociales que  inciden en la autoeficacia percibida por las madres jefas de hogar que conforman las familias monoparentales en situación de pobreza que reciben beneficios sociales del Estado en la comuna de Concepción. Se abordan resultados cuantitativos que describen  características, a partir de la relación de la situación de vulnerabilidad social de las madres jefas de familias monoparentales y su percepción de la  autoeficacia, autoestima, satisfacción maternal y apoyo social.

This study provides information concerning the psychosocial resources that affect the perceived self-efficiency of single mothers in poverty conditions that receive social benefits from the Government in the city of Concepcion. Quantitative findings describe the characteristics of social vulnerability of single mothers and their perceptions on self-efficiency, self-esteem, maternal satisfaction and social support. The data collection process was carried out during the months of August and September of 2009, defining the characteristics of the population and size of the sample through a selection of women of single parent households registered in the “Ficha de Proteccion Social 2008”.The research also contributes to enhance our both theoretical and empirical understanding regarding the topic of family, suggesting future innovative practices and generating new lines of research.
