LA VOZ DE LAS MUJERES SOBRE EL ABUSO SEXUAL DE SUS HIJOS-HIJAS / The voice of women on the sexual abuse of their children

Abstract
Este artículo consiste en una investigación fenomenológica, de carácter cualitativo, llevada a cabo en las comunas de Chillán y Chillán Viejo, en el año 2005, dirigida a madres de niñas/os víctimas de abuso sexual por parte de un hombre externo a su grupo familiar y busca conocer los significados que estas mujeres elaboran a partir de su interpretación sobre este hecho. Por medio de la información obtenida mediante la aplicación de una entrevista en profundidad semiestructurada, logramos concluir que todas las mujeres entrevistadas ven el abuso sexual infantil como un fenómeno social negativo, que genera graves consecuencias psicológicas tanto para las víctimas como para ellas, de igual forma, las mujeres perciben el abuso sexual como un abuso de poder manifestado en actos físicos, en el cual influyen factores como la violencia, la socialización de la masculinidad basada en el modelo patriarcal, la vulnerabilidad y desprotección social de las/os niñas/os.
The present article is a phenomenological, qualitative study carried out in the areas of Chillán and Chillán Viejo in 2005 that focused on mothers of children who had been victims of sexual abuse by an abuser external to the family group. We sought to know the meanings and interpretations that these women had about the situation of their abused children. We the obtained information through semi-structured, in-depth interviews. Findings reveal that all the interviewed women saw sexual abuse of their children as a negative social phenomenon that generates serious psychological consequences for the victims as well as for themselves. In the same line, they perceived sexual abuse as a power abuse that takes form in physical acts. They also mentioned social violence, patriarchal socialization of masculinity, children’s vulnerability and social helplessness as factors.
