Abstract

Los procesos de reconstrucción tras la ocurrencia de desastres socionaturales pueden ser vistos como una oportunidad para discutir respecto al cómo queremos habitar nuestros territorios. Sin embargo, los recientes procesos de reconstrucción, tras el terremoto y tsunami que afectó a un 69% de las comunas del país el 27 de febrero del 2010, han privilegiado un enfoque centrado en la recuperación de las condiciones materiales de vida, concentrando su evaluación en torno a la cantidad de viviendas construidas y olvidando, de paso, los procesos de  construcción inter-subjetiva de los territorios. La imposición de este enfoque tiene entre sus consecuencias la imposibilidad de las poblaciones afectadas de volver a la normalidad o, dicho en otras palabras, de reconstruir su vida cotidiana. Ante este escenario, se propone una reflexión en torno a la noción de lugar, el acto de habitar y la construcción intersubjetiva de territorios; develando la estrecha relación de éstos y los mundos de la vida cotidiana. Finalmente, se alerta respecto a la necesidad de un cambio de enfoque epistemológico que vea en el acto de habitar el desafío central de todo proceso de reconstrucción de territorios.

The processes of reconstruction after the socio natural disasters can be seen as an opportunity to discuss topics related to how we want to cohabitate in our territories. However, the recent processes of reconstruction after the earthquake and tsunami that affected 69% of the communities in the country, have centered on the reconstruction of the material conditions of life, focusing their evaluation on the quantity of homes built, forgetting as a consequence the inter-subjective construction processes of the territories. The imposition of this point of view has among its consequences the impossibility of the affected communities to go back to normality, or said in other words, to go back to their every day life. Upon this scenario, reflection is proposed surrounding the concept of place, the act of cohabitating and the construction of intersubjective territories ; showing the tight relationship between the and the worlds of everyday life. Finally the necessity for a change epistemological perspective that treats the act of cohabitating as the central challenge in the process of reconstructing territories.
